pm awareness & pollution check up campaign at rajdhani service station, a bharat petroleum outlet at bhubaneswar on 17.11.2007

as informed in our oct’07 minutes of pm monthly meeting we planned to have our awarenss drive in one of the iocl / hpcl / bpcl service stations. towards this, to start with we carried out our nov’07 pm monthly activity at rajdhani service station, bhubaneswar on 17.11.2007. bssm approached the owner of the outlet and sought formal consent to carryout our pm initiative. accordingly we reached the petrol bunk at 3.30 p.m. we made all arrangements to conduct our programme. we displayed our banners and posters in the premises for public awareness. pm parivar members led by bssm mr. tripathy drew attention of drivers who were present at the outlet to get the regular pollution check-up of their vehicles and shared information on how to control different types of pollution, etc., pm co-ordinator explained the objectives to visitors who came there for filling of petrol/diesel and also handed over leaflet. towards pollution check up, we intimated the service station personnel and arranged for checking of up vehicles. customers showed their interest to have this check-up. for their benefit computerised emission certificate were also issued to them. the office bearers of petrol pump were very co-operative and helped us to conduct our programme successfully. at the end of the programme bssm thanked them for their help in allowing us to conduct the programme nicely. pm banners were put up at the venue, leaflets were distributed and pm objectives were briefed to the environment enthusiasts during the campaign.
