On 21st July 08 Branch Parivar organized an awareness-cum-plantation drive at Maharashtra State Science Education Society (MSSES), Civil Lines, and Nagpur.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the traditional lamp by Mr.Ghankar (Director of MSSES), Mrs. Pratibha Taide (Ex-director MSSES), Mr.Jarnal Singh (Joint Director Social Foresty), Mr.R.S.Bhangu (Ex. Forest Officer) & Mr.J.P.Kantharia (BSSM, Nagpur Br.) A small plant was handed over to the delegates.

Mr.J.P.Kantharia, during his address touched up on various PM initiaties and activities.

There was a song on theme – save environment “Mala Vachwa – Mala Vachwa”, by a NCC Cadet, followed by viewing of PM AV.

Subsquently, plantation activity was carried out in the premises of MSSES. A total of 25 saplings were planted by “Bhangu Method”. Bhangu Method is to give water to plant by a waste bisleri bottle. While planting the sapling a bisleri bottle is kept in upside down position with water filled. In this way water reaches the root of the plant and scientifically the plant grows up faster than the regular method.

All participants gathered in the conference hall and every one promised that they will plant at least 20 nos. plants in a year and encourage other people to save the environment.
